What I am proud of this year

This year will have ended soon, so I want to look back at this year. What I have done this year that I am proud of is the club activity. I will show you what I did at the club.

First, I became to be able to say what I want to say through many meetings in the club. We are operating in the team and we have to talk about the individual work and some events which our team project in the meeting every week. That is, I had many opportunities to express my opinion in the club. To sum up, I was not good at saying what I want to say in front of many people, but I became to be able to provide my idea through the many meetings.

Second, I experienced the things which I have never experienced. The thing is to call to some companies and go there to talk with the company presidents or staff members. I was very nervous about calling to companies and going there, but I could talk someone I have never met and know what I have never thought of. In short, what I did in the club this year is very amazing experience.

In conclusion, I am proud of that I could grow myself and experience what I have never experienced through the club activity this year.

The most urgent issue Japan facing

Four years will have passed since the nuclear accident occurred in Japan, but the problem about the accident haven’t been solved. I believe the most urgent issue Japan is facing is the problem of atomic power plant. I will show you why I think so.

First, some people haven’t come home yet because of the nuclear problem. People who lived near the atomic power plant were deprived of their houses, and what’s more they haven’t come home yet. They must want to come home, but the decontamination work haven’t finished, so they can’t return to their hometown. In short, the problem of the nuclear accident haven’t finished.

Second, there are some nuclear power plants in production now despite being said that a large earthquake will occur soon. Under this condition, I doubts that it is all right if some nuclear power plants are running. I worried that when a large earthquake occurs someday, the same kinds of accidents will occur. To sum up, we have the risk associated with the use of nuclear power plants.

In conclusion, because of the above reasons, I believe that the problem of the nuclear power plant is the most urgent issue.

Having a boyfriend or girlfriend should make our lives better.

 

I agree that having a boyfriend or girlfriend should make our lives better. I will tell you why I think so.

First, a boyfriend or a girlfriend support us all the time. I believe that a boyfriend or a girlfriend help us when we are worried about something or have troubles, and he or she stays with us when we want to cry. For example, my friends told me that when she suffered for the university she got in, and cried, her boyfriend stayed with her and heard her distress. In short, boyfriend or girlfriend supports us in difficult time.

Second, we can engage in deep discussion with a boyfriend or a girlfriend. We can talk about the dream for future, and we can work hard for the goals with him or her. For instance, I watched a drama in which couples gave each other encouragement and worked hard for the each other’s dream. To sum up, couples can talk about the deep topic, and have a positive effect one another.

In conclusion, for the above reasons, I agree that having a boyfriend or a girlfriend should make our lives better. (191 words)

 

Children should start learning a foreign language very early (TOEFL)

I agree with the opinion that children should start learning a foreign language very early. I will write two reasons to support this opinion.

First, children can remember something sooner than adults. The older people become, the weaker memory abilities are. For example, my Filipino friends in my elementary school days can speak Tagalog, English and Japanese. They learned Tagalog and English in Philippines before elementary school and after coming to the Japanese elementary school, they learned Japanese. She could learn to speak three languages until she became junior high school. On the other hand, in my case I started to learn English at elementary school and I have learned English for about 10 years, but I couldn’t speak even only English fully. In short, the sooner people start to study a foreign language, the better people can master it.

Second, children have long time to learn something. In elementary school or before it, children don’t have to do many things, but after entering junior high school children should study many subjects and they can’t spend time on learning a foreign language. To some up, children should learn a foreign language in an enjoyable format when they have time to spare.

In conclusion, children should start learning a foreign language very early because a young children have a good memory ability and enough time. (224 words)

To succeed in the modern world

There are many skills that people should have in order to succeed in the modern world. I want to show you two of them.

First, people should have English skills. These days, the world goes global, so people have to communicate with many countries’ people. Almost all the foreign people can speak English. If you cannot speak English, you can’t negotiate with foreign companies, and your companies may miss out the wave of globalization. In short, speaking English is necessary in the modern world.

Second, presentation skill is necessary nowadays. I believe making presentation in public proudly is important. For example, people who can explain their opinion in public get belief of companies and respect of members in my circle. In short, people should have their own thought and explain it to others clearly these days.

Third, communication skill is important. In business world, I believe people who have communication skills succeed in business negotiation. To some up, if people talk with strangers and get along with them can succeed.

In conclusion, if people have these three skills in especially, they succeed in the modern world.

Technology help us have a better communication in family.

I agree with the opinion that technology helps us have a better communication in family. I will write two reasons why I think so.

First, television give us a lot of conversation topics in family. For example, my family all love dramas, so we often watch the same drama. After we watch the drama, we talk about it so long. For instance, we told that some scenes are very good or bad, and one actor or actress is very cool or cute. To sum up, if we watch the same TV program, we have a better communication in family.

Second, cell-phone give us a chance where we have a communication in family even if we are somewhere far away. In my family’s case, when one of my families travels to somewhere far away, we can talk through cell phone. We can hear that he or she enjoy the trip or not and we can send the pictures each other.

In conclusion, the technology helps us have a better communication.

My way to have a relaxing weekend

I have enjoyed weekends in a variety of ways. I will introduce you my way to have the most relaxing weekend of those ways.

In the morning, get up at the time you want to get up. We can’t sleep well in weekdays, so you should sleep all you want in weekends. You’ll feel better when you get up when you want to get up. After eating light breakfast, clean the house. In my case, vacuuming the floor is good. When I do so, I feel good, and I can do anything that afternoon, not complained by my mother because I help housework.

In the afternoon, go shopping and eat lunch in cafe with your mother. If you help her housework, she may treat great lunch or buy some clothes to you. You can also enjoy talking with your mother. You may hear some her secrets in the lunch time or shopping time because your father isn’t there in the time.

In the evening, after coming home do your homework bit for weekdays. You may think doing your homework is bother, but you can lessen the weekday’s burden if you do your homework bit. You can also sleep at night with a good feeling. (204 words)

My main goal of this semester

The second semester has started two weeks ago. The first semester have passed without achieving something, so I want to achieve something in this semester. What my main goal of this semester is aiming for TOEIC scores of more than 700. I want to write what I will do to achieve it.

First, I want to listen the radio in English in the train. The most difficult part in TOEIC for me is listening part, so I want to improve my listening skill. I believe listening English every day is important to improve my listening skill. In short, I want to use the free time in the train and improve my listening skill.

Second, I will do the TOEIC workbook. I bought it in first semester, but I have never opened it. I will do it on Saturdays or Sundays every week because I want to work aggressively to study for TOEIC. In short, I want to practice the TOEIC test by using the workbook.

Third, I’m going to read foreign books. I want to improve my reading skill, but I don’t like read long text written in English, so I decide to read the book which I am interested in. Therefore, I bought a foreign famous book. To sum up, I want to enjoy reading and improve my English skill.

In conclusion, I created the plan for getting great score in TOEIC. What I only have to do in this semester is carrying out these plans.

What I did during summer vacation

My summer vacation has ended last week. I had many things I had to do and I was very busy in the first-time summer vacation after becoming the university student. I want to choose three things I did in my summer and write about it.

First, I will write about circle’s camp. I belong to AISEC. The camp was called Re-planning camp in AISEC. On the one hand, we had to hear many stories about AISEC, discuss the course of action of second semester and make some presentation, on the other hand, we could enter the sea a bit and do fireworks. In short, we had many things we had to do, but we could also enjoy the camp.

Second I want to write how fun going to Tokyo Disney Land and Sea is. I went there with my friend who love there. We enjoyed many amusement attraction, eating many good meals and seeing the Halloween parades. In short, she knew how to enjoy the Disney Land and Sea, so we could enjoy there good deal.

In conclusion, I enjoyed the outing this summer vacation. I did many things in this summer vacation, so I can’t write all of that.(200 words)

My impression of "the HELP"

I saw the movie "the HELP". I can't imagined the story from the title,　but after I saw this movie, it impressed me. I'm going to write how this movie makes me feel.

              First, I was surprised at that black people had to live under terrible conditions. For example, they were said that they were dirty and had to go to the different restroom from the white people's. Moreover, if they stood against white people, they became out of work or they were likely to be killed at worst. What I can't understand the most is that they had to get down the bus, when a black person was killed. She must have been very scared when she had to walk to her home that night. In short, I couldn't believe that white people treat black people in such a terrible way.

              Second, I was moved by the bond of white people and black people. Many white people treated the black people like slaves, but there were some white people who loved black people. While on the other hand, in spite of white people's terrible treatment, black people loved white children. The heroine promoted the　problem of Negro segregation for black people, even when she were disliked by her friends and her boy friend, so I respect her. In short, I was impressed by both black people's and white people's warm action.

              In conclusion, I knew the reality and people of the U.S. in the past　through the movie "the HELP". I had a good time.

College students should have a part time job

Many college students have a part time job. I also work part time. I work as a practical matter, I believe that college student should have a part time job. I’m going to write two reason why I believe that.

First, college students can have a sense of responsibility through the part time job. When they have a part time job, they get a salary, so they can’t take second best and miss the job when you want to miss. For example, I work at a cram school, and I can’t have an absence suddenly and always teach cheerfully because my students come to the cram school at a set time. In short, we can get responsibility through a part time job.

Second, college students have to make money by themself. Their parents pay expensive academic fee, so they have to pay other money they need. In short, they don’t have to depend on parents to the end of the time.

In conclusion, college students should have a part time job for themselves.

What goals I want to achieve

Three months have passed since I became a college student. I was tired because I wasn’t used to going to college by train and I had homework, so I had little time to think about my goal. I will try to think about what goals I want to achieve during my college days.

First, I want to be good at English. I majors British and American studies all the way, I want to be good English speaker and writer. I don’t want someone to say that although I am a Nanzan University student, I am bad at English. I want to get TOEIC score to show my English ability. In short, I want to be a good English speaker and writer.

Second, I want to enlarge my mind. Not only I can speak English, but also I want to use the English ability and learn various things. In order to achieve the goal, I will study abroad and encounter many people. In short,

In conclusion, my goals is to be a person who can use English naturally and have a wide vision.

My concern as a college student

More than two months have passed after I became a college student. I made many friends and I got used to the university, so I enjoy college life. However, I have a concern in such happy life. I want to tell you what my concern is and what I can do to resolve it.

First let me tell you what my concern is. I don’t have enough time, so I can’t study well. It takes me about 2 hours to come to the university. Moreover, I belong to a circle and I have a part time job so I’m very busy. However, studying is the most important thing for college student, so I am impatient with myself. In short, my concern is I can’t do what I have to do most.

Second, I’ll think about how I can make an effort to overcome my concern. When I consulted with my friend about it, she advised to me that I could study in the train. I also look back my life by myself, there are many extra time in my life. For example, I watch the TV program which I don’t really want to watch. In short, I can study in the train and use the extra time.

In conclusion, I have a concern as a college student, but I can overcome if I make an effort. Therefore, I want to overcome my concern and make my life really happy.

My favorite class in Nanzan

My favorite class in Nanzan University is “An Encounter with Italy”. I chose this class because I’m very interested in Italy. I will tell you why I like this class.

First, we can learn about Italy in various aspect in this class. For example, the professor tell us the Italian history, art, and mind. He show us many pictures and videos about Italian food, scenery and a painting. In short, learning about Italy deeply is fascinating for me because I like Italy.

 Second, the professor of this class is wonderful person. He can speak many language, he have many experiences and he have read a large number of books. Therefor he tell us his precious experiences and he show us many valuable quotations. In short, we can learn what good for us in this class.

In conclusion, we can learn about Italy deeply and valuable thing for us in this class. I recommend this class to people who are interested in Italy and who want to hear meaningful story.   

My best friend

I met with a girl in the first grade of my high school. She became my best friend in my high school days. I want to introduce her.

First, I want to tell you about what my best friend likes. She likes to do some funny things. She often makes funny face and utters strange voice. For example, she suddenly sent me a picture of her funny face. She also screamed in a funny voice when I rode some attractions in Disney Land with her, and made me laugh. In short, she likes to make people laugh.

Second, I want to tell you about why I like my best friend. I like her because when I worry about something and ask her some advice, she always listens to me and gives me advice sincerely. For example, she told me that if I didn’t do what I really wanted to do, I would regret. In short, she often cheer me up.

In conclusion, she is funny, but is sincere, so I like her very much.

About Nanzan University

I have attended Nanzan University since this April. I have got used to this school, so I found some points I like and dislike about Nanzan University. I will tell you what I like and what I don’t like about Nanzan University.

First, I will tell you what I like. It is a point that we can learn native language. There are many foreign teacher in Nanzan University, and many class is done in foreign language. For example, I have five class which are done by native English speaker and two class which are done by native Chinese speaker. In short, student in Nanzan University can learn native language.

Second, I will tell you what I don’t like. I don’t like an uphill slope in front of the university. When I am likely to be late for school I am irritated at it.

In conclusion, there are points I like and dislike about Nanzan University, but I like this university.

  I love soccer!

  My hobby is watching soccer games. I mainly watch the game of the representation of the Japanese. I want to tell you why I like soccer.

  First, when we watch soccer games, we are moved. Particularly, when we watch the game of the World Cup. For example, when I watch the soccer game of the World Cup for the first time four years ago, Japan was not stronger than an opponent, but Japan didn’t give up and did their best. Japan lost the game, but the team moved many Japanese. In short, soccer can move us.

  Second, some Japanese play soccer in foreign countries. For example, Nagatomo who is my favorite soccer players plays it in Italy. He is almost equal with Italian players. I’m glad to hear Japanese play active part.

Write about my hometown!

 

   My hometown is Kani. Kani is in the south of Gifu. I was born and brought up in Kani. Kani is not so famous, but I like Kani. I want you to know about my hometown, Kani.

  First, Kani has ‘Flower Festival Commemorative Park’. There are many kinds of roses there. I was surprised at blue rose when I saw it for the first time there. We can enjoy seeing rare roses and relax there. In short, that park is nice for a resident of Kani.

  Second, volunteer activities are popular in Kani. There are mainly two activities. One is a campaign ‘Full of Flower’. People plant many kinds of flowers in a flower bed near their house with their neighborhood. The other is a campaign ‘Love Earth’. People collect waste articles. In short, the residents of Kani join many volunteers.

I want you to know about myself. I was born in Kani,Gifu and I live there with my mother and father now. I have no sisters or brothers. I am an only child. I also have no pets. I like animals, so I want a dog or a cat. My hobby is watching soccer game. I always watch soccer on TV with my father. I’m looking forward to watching World Cup in June. I especially like Nagatomo. I often see him through the sport news. I also like watching drama on TV and listening to music. My favorite singer is YUI and Avril Lavigne.
